“What’s your relation with Theonoe?” the blue-dressed priest questioned with his usual icy tone.

However, his question wasn’t relevant at all with the situation they were facing that moment, that’s why Therapontas attempted to avoid it by keeping his mouth shut. He hoped to change the topic, but Seto took immediately drastic measures, surprising the Spartan.

“If you don’t answer me, I’ll arrest you for cooperation in a possible assassination attempt of the Pharaoh.”

“But-”

“I know; but you have to cooperate now, if you want to save them.” he interrupted him. “We don’t have many choices; we must search every detail now. It must be some hope hidden in there…”

Therapontas sighed heavily and eyed him.

“Theonoe was an acquaintance with whom I used to have good relationship.” he answered blankly.

“Only that? You said before that she was a fortune-teller from the oracle of Delphi.”

“Yes?” the black haired man quirked an eyebrow.

“However, how was she able to cast a huge curse on (Y/n)?”

“I don’t know. The fortune-tellers there can only predict the future.”

“How did you learn those spells, which were supposed to cure the Pharaoh and (Y/n)?” he threw another question.

Therapontas sighed again.

“She taught me some basics, while I’d spent a year to Delphi.”

“Why did you spend a year there?”

Seto hit a sensitive spot that moment. The emerald-eyed man hesitated a tad, thinking of Kleoniki, but he answered.

“Personal incumbencies…” he muttered.

“Can you share those incumbencies?”

He turned his back at him, spotted a chair at the corner of the room, grabbed it, brought near to the bed, where you and Atem were lying, and sat on it without even saying a word.
The priest growled by his action. He couldn’t handle any of those right now. He said it again with more threatening tone.

“I’ll repeat my question. Can you share those incumbencies?”

“A woman named Kleoniki.” he replied with, equally, threating voice to the wielder of the millennium rod. “There is nothing else relevant with the situation in that.”

Watching his sudden change of behavior, he decided not to continue. After all, he was suspecting who that Kleoniki might be, in order to make Therapontas act like that.

“If you say so; I’ll let you be.” the priest said and exited the room. While he exited it, he ordered two guards to watch over him.

“I don’t know to whom god I shall pray, princess (Y/n).” he murmured with a sorrowful voice, “The only thing I can do now, is to desperately hope you two open your eyes and live happily ever after.”

‘(Y/n).’ a voice echoed in the endless blackness which surrounded you.

You blinked a few times to realize where you are. The repeated your name a few more time; it was becoming clearer and clearer to you. It was Theonoe! You moved your head to find the direction her voice was coming. No luck at all.

“Theonoe, where are you? What’s going on here?” you asked puzzled.

Her reply was something you didn’t expect even in your worst nightmares.

“Venus decided not curse the whole palace, but only Atem! If the curse falls on one person, when it’s at her last phase, she will kill him slowly and painfully!”

Your eyes widened by her words.

“W-what-t?” you attempted to stammer.

“Find Atem and protect him no matter what!” her voice was desperate and commanding at the same time.

“Theonoe! Wait!” you said as you made a step ahead.

Then, you heard a cracking sound right below your feet. You glanced down to see the floor breaking apart. The cracks were spreading all over the blackness; till the whole place broke apart and you were falling down to a white nothingness.

A scream agony escaped your mouth, while you were sinking into your possible demise. You thought were a goner, but when you shut your eyes open and tossed your back up, you realized you were asleep. Gasping greedily the air, you tried to accept that this was nothing but a dream.

You couldn’t calm down for a moment, when you turned your head to see that Atem, who supposed to sleep besides you, wasn’t there. You launch your body up so quickly and looked at your surroundings. Nothing. Only but trees, grass and the marble path in front of you.

You blood froze solid as you were recalling the seeress’ words about the curse.

“I must find him!” you exclaimed and ran into the forest.

‘He couldn’t have taken the path without me. He would never do that!’ you shouted in your mind and pushed away all the doubts, which were trying to occupy you.

While you were running among the olive and almond trees, you shouted his name. No response. You lost the track of time and your legs started aching and your lungs were begging for oxygen, but you pushed yourself to run and screaming your fiancé’s name.

‘Find him and protect him no matter what!’ Theonoe’s last sentence had been echoing in your head since the second you woke up.

“You didn’t have to say that, Theonoe! I would protect Atem, even if I had to die in the process!” you said between your pants.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A funny smell tickled the young Pharaoh’s nostrils. At first, he thought that you laid a fire to keep yourselves warm from the forest breeze. However, the heat that surrounded him was one hundred times more searing than a usual one during a shiny day at the Sahara desert.
‘What the?’ he thought opening his eyes.
His pupil shrank at shock of what he faced. He couldn’t believe it! Egypt was in flames and total chaos dominated the area. Houses were burning, civilians were running for their and the palace was aflame and ready to collapse. Atem was dumbfounded by the scene; he could recall being by your side sleeping calmly under a tree, how did he end up alone in the Egypt during an apocalypse?
“This is just a nightmare! It can’t be real!” he said to himself.
But all his doubts about this nightmare were proven wrong, when something scratched him on his left shoulder. He gulped and caught his shoulder, where the pain started emerging and the crimson blood staining his cape and tunic. He glared at the sharped object, which hurt him.
“An arrow?” he questioned astonished, but he didn’t have much time to think over it, because yells, roars and horse galloping were coming closer to him.
He turned to the direction of sound, only to realize that things can’t get any worse.
Chariots were after him and they were yelling unstoppably.
“Catch him!”
“Kill him!”
“The traitor must die!”
Any of those things they’d screamed, weren’t making any sense.
Atem opened his diadhank and started murmuring the anthem of summoning one of the Egyptian gods.
“Legendary gods of Egypt please hear my call! In the name of every Pharaoh who lived before, I know beseeched thee… Awaken oh mighty Obelisk and rid this sacred palace of this darkness!”
Then, on his golden diadhank the curving of the Obelisk the Tormentor appeared and a blinding glow showered him making the hunters quiver in fear. The dark blue colossal monster rose above the Pharaoh with an intimidating roar. The legendary monster threw his fist right on the chariots, without even giving much a try, eviscerating them.
As it looked like all of his recent trouble were gone. Although, he still believed that’s something is fishy with that place, so he kept Obelisk ready for another encounter.
‘Even though, everything around looks so real…’ he wondered and eyed his wound on his shoulder, ‘…this place can’t be Egypt! It might be some kind of hallucination! The same goes for the meadow, where I and (Y/n) ended up somehow!’
He made a pause to look at his surroundings and then on Obelisk -who let a small growl while standing motionless.
‘If I’m here, that means (Y/n) should be, no, must be somewhere around!’
A determined expression curved on his face, he was ready to send Obelisk back and search for you, when a seductive and mysterious voice startled him.
“You’re so committed to that girl, aren’t you?”
“Who are you?”
A chuckle echoed around him.
“Appear right now!”
“Watch your words, mortal! Or you’ll face a horrific punishment!”
With that the familiar red light made its appearance blinding temporarily the young Pharaoh once again.
